Discussions on mandatory human rights due diligence have been gaining increased attention over the past months, particularly in the European Union. Such a trend, however, has yet to reach Latin American countries, including Brazil. In spite of that, Brazil and Brazilian institutions and enterprises have adhered to a variety of global frameworks, standards and initiatives aimed at the implementation of human rights principles and requirements.

In our article, “Business and Human Rights in Brazil: Trends and Outlook for the Coming Years”, we explore how the integration of ESG factors into decision-making and investment strategies is expected to strengthen the implementation of human rights principles and requirements by companies operating in Brazil.
